Our FAQ list is constantly being updated with regular new enquiries, we trust this information will assist you.  If you would like further assistance please contact us via the contact page of our website which can be accessed in the top right hand corner of each page on our site.

The FAQ section is broken down into the following areas for ease of navigation.  Simply click on a link below to jump to a specific section or scroll down to read the entire list.

General FAQ's

Q. When did RacingTrades commence operations?
A. Our website (www.racingtrades.com) officially went live on Wednesday 5 July 2006.

Q. Where does RacingTrades get their wagering information from?
A. We source the best racing analysts from literally around the globe.  Given today’s technology, it is very easy to correlate all the information in ‘real time’.  It may be worthwhile to read the information on the "About Us" page of our website, especially the section covering the sources of our form analysts.

Q. How can I be assured that the results displayed on the site are true and correct?
A. We are the first to acknowledge that anyone with a basic web publishing program and an internet connection can easily post past results.  Firstly, scan through our results section and you will notice that we do in fact have losing days - & don’t try to hide them!  This in itself should reassure some.  Secondly you also have the option of trialling a plan before you join.

Q. I’ve been burnt before, my money has gone missing from bank/trust accounts etc, what guarantee do I have that this won’t happen with RacingTrades?

A. Firstly you must remember that our services can be used where you totally control your own wagering by doing it yourself or you can let us do it for you. All of your wagering money stays in YOUR private betting account in YOUR name – similar to a bank account.  Another security feature of the bookmaking agencies we advise you to use is that they will NOT transfer money out to any form of third party.  This means that in order to withdraw funds, they will only transfer the money to either a Credit Card or Bank Account in your name.

Q. If my wagering account is so secure, how can you trade on my behalf?
A. At all times you are in control of your wagering account.  We can only place bets on your behalf if you provide us with your user name and password.  Remember, you can change your password at any time – we would then no longer have access to your wagering account. Alternatively you can always place your own trades based on our live trading information and not even use this additional service we offer.

Q. What Is The Chance Of Losing A Total 100% Bank?
A. The chance of this happening does exist as it does with any type of gambling that involves risk, the beauty of Racingtrades.com is that we offer numerous different plans with differing levels of risk allowing the end user to assess the plan that best suits them under thew potential risk involved. Look at it realistically like this, our medium risk plans mostly carry stop loss figures of 20% per meeting, simple mathematics says that 5 meetings of accrued 20% losses per meeting equates to a total loss of 100%. Simple mathematics also says that 30 meetings of losing 3.3% per meeting will acrrue a loss of 100% aswell, so you even losing only 3.3% per meeting your total bank can potentially be lost in only 30 meets.

Q. Has An Existing Or Past Client Ever Lost A Total 100% Bank?
A. Yes this has happened and will happen again, we have no doubt of that, it is one of the certainties of gambling. You only need to look at our Results portfolio which can be accessed on the left hand menu to see that for instance The 10% Plan endured a loss of 150% during June 2007 in the middle stages of the month.

Joining FAQ's

Q. Can I trial one of the plans before I join?
A. Absolutely!  In fast – we prefer it!  In order to participate in an obligation free trial of one of our plans, simply click on the ‘Free Trial Offer’ Banner at the top of this page and one of our Sales Consultants will be in touch to run through the details.

Q. How long is the life of the membership?
A. Put simply, it is a lifetime one.  This means you own the membership (in a format similar to that of a small business) and therefore have the right to do with it as you wish; including on-selling it at a later time. Some members even buy multiple memberships at the current asking price with the view to on selling them once the 100 positions in each plan has been sold or as the value rises due to market demand and performance.

Trading Result FAQ's

Q. How often is the Trading Results section of the website updated? A. We use a backend management system that automatically calculates the profit for all plans once the result of each race is entered.  Generally we update results as soon as the official result is declared but sometimes during extremely busy periods it can take time with out major focus being on trading live during these periods. The graphs on the left hand menu depicting each plans profit position also updates automatically after each event has been completed by us.

Q. What percentage of bets per plan are placed on my behalf if Racingtrades does my wagering for me? A. We try to place as many bets per plan as possible but because of the amount of action per plan in general and with liquidity only being available to certain levels before value is compromised in most markets one must be realistic and understand it is unfeasable to place every wager when we trade on your behalf. The law of averages does say that across a large example of trading you are more than likely to achieve a similar result and return. Remember you also have the ability to place your own wagers if you so wish to ensure you get the advantages of every single trade.

Plan FAQ's

Q. Why are there so many different plans?
A. With the advent of betting exchanges there are now more wagering options available to the public - such as lay betting.  With this in mind we have tailored plans to suit all levels of punters and investors.  We suggest you refer to the explanation of each plan on our "Membership Details" page for a complete run-down. Different people also have different levels of comfort and we have tried to develop wageringp lans to suit all levels of punters.

Live Trading FAQ's

Q. How often does trading take place?
A. We plan to trade on average of 5-6 days per week. Sometimes you will see us trade 30 days straight but on average you can expect action 5 to 6 days a week. It is important our trading staff have the scope and time to mentally recover from the rigours of trading in the fashion we do.

Q. How do I access the "Live Trading" area of the site?

A. To access the "Live Trading" area of our website you have to either be an existing member or trial member who has been granted access by one of our team. Simply enter the username and password you have been assigned into the "Sign In Now!" box that appears at the top of each page (just under the flash banner) of our website. Once you have logged in you will taken directly to the "Live Trading" screen. There is also a "Live Trading" link in the upper right hand corner of each results screen which can be accessed through the "Trading Results" link on the left hand menu.

Q. I have noticed that after a race is completed and resulted that it then disappears from the "Live Trading" area of the site, why is this so?

A. Once a race has been resulted and completed we update the result and then it is automatically transferred to the "Trading Results" section of the website so that not only registered members can view the information but also so that general site visitors can browse our results.

Q. What is the latest time I can expect an update regarding a race before the post time?

A. We try to post information as quickly as possible regarding each race we plan to cover.  Generally we give at least 15 minutes notice before the post time of any event where we have a vested interest in the outcome. Most events are updated at the start of the day as a general rule of thumb, obviously weather changing track conditions, shifts in bias, value association ando ther factors can effect the timing of posting of new information to the live trading area of our site.

Q. Why do the odds vary from those officially available?
A. A couple of reasons exists, firstly we do a lot of wagering through betting exchanges at fluctuating fixed odds, this means that generally markets are set a lot tighter creating better margins and secondly a the actual price each individual person gets will be different becuase of a fluctuating market that we wager into that is controlled by supply and demand, thirdly it can be because liquidity in any given market is low creating bigger margins and therefore if we feel the needed value for the particular win place or lay wager still exists we will place it. This factor alone may in actual fact generally lead to users laying horses at lower prices therefore lowering the risk associated to a wager, in some cases the price actually layed at under those circumstances can vary substantially.

Q. How far in front of myself should I be betting?
A. We strongly advise that you only wager each race in front or a maximum of two events in front of yourself without knowing the results. We utilise incremental staking procedures for most plans with the outlays for future races dependent upon the results garnered in earlier trades. This means we need to know results of past races before outlays and risks on future races can be determined.

Q. How do I know when there is new information that has been uploaded during the course of a live trading session?

A. We have now implemented a feature in the "Live Trading" area of the website that makes it automatically update with new information every 3 minutes from the time you have logged in. This means you do not have to consistently press "Refresh" on your browser to get the latest trading information. As previously stated we upload trading information for any one single event at least 15 minutes before post time so this should give all clients who do their own wagering ample time to act; especially when you consider that it only takes 10 seconds to 30 seconds to place a bet.

Q. What are the comments that show up when I hover my cursor over a horses name in the results or live trading area of the site?
A. This unique feature has been introduced so that you have the ability to see inside the reasoning of why we decide to wager on any particular selection. To action this feature you simply need to hover your cursor over the name of any horse on our website and then a secondary grey box will appear with a comment explaining our selection.

Q. How come I notice that bets have not been placed on my account?
A. This can happen for a few different reasons. It may be that there was not enough liquidity in the market to achieve that we considered to be a value price to allow everyone to get a bet on. Alternatively, it may be that a scratching has come out of a field, thereby forcing the betting exchange to reset the market and cancel any unmatched bets. It may be that human error can come into play and not place a bet on an account. It may also be that time prevents us from being able to simply place a wager for every existing client on a selection. The biggest factor to remember here that there is just as much chance as not having a losing bet placed as their is a winning bet so in actual fact we feel in the long run because memberships are not based on time that the actual potential profit for any member still exists.
